Abstract
Depression on women prisoners occurs due to loss of freedom and stressors undergo criminal, separate from their children and families, so that make of feeling failed, loss of interest and purpose of life, empty, and obstacles in a relationship interpersonal. So far there has never been a review of interventions effective for reducing depression specifically on women prisoners. This systematic review is aimed at critically evaluating effective interventions to reduce depression on women prisoners. The literature used derived from ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Google Scholar with keywords of intervention for depression AND female inmates OR women prisoners, published in the year 2000-2018, sex was female, quasi-experimental design, randomized control trial, full text, and English Language. The quality of the article was evaluated using the CASP checklist. Inclusion criteria were adult women over the age of 18 years without taking into account the ethnic, and exclusion criteria was recidivism and use of the substance, so the numbers of eligible papers are four papers. Interventions interpersonal psychotherapy by group is a combination of cognitive therapy and behavior, providing opportunities for women prisoners with the problem of depression can communicate to express feelings, problems experienced and interact with other people and effective in terms of cost (effect size 0.70)
