Abstract
Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that is often not realized especially by adolescent groups. Hypertension can be caused by various factors including fat intake, fiber intake and nutritional status. The purpose of this study was analyze the correlation of hypertension with fat intake, fiber intake, and overweight at SMK Kota Bekasi. This study was a cross sectional on 255 female adolescent who was selected by purposive sampling technique. Fat intake and fiber intake was assessed using Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), and obesity was measuring nutritional status using scales and microtoise. Data were analyzed by chi square test. The results showed that most female adolescent had low category of fat intake (58,8%); low category of fiber intake (82,0%); obesity (25,1%); and hypertension (16,5%) and there was correlation between fat intake (p=0,011) and obesity (p=0,000) and no correlation between fiber intake (p=0,916) with incidence of hypertension female adolescent at SMK Kota Bekasi. Fat intake and obesity had related to the incidence of hypertension in adolescents. There is a need for routine blood pressure checks and restrictions on fat intake to reduce the risk of hypertension in adolescents.
