THE REPRESENTATION OF FATIGUE BASED ON DIMENSION OF SWEDISH OCCUPATIONAL FATIGUE INDEX (SOFI) FOR GARMENT EMPLOYEE IN PT ADI SATRIA ABADI

Abstract


Fatigue in working situation decrease working performance, increase errors and affect productivity. The characteristics of fatigue are declining willingness to work caused by the intensity and physical working hours, environmental and mental condition, and also interval session. The aim of this study was to uncovering fatigue representation based on Swedish Occupational Fatigue Index (SOFI) in PT Adi Satria Abadi's garment employee. The method of this study was observational with a cross-sectional design using Swedish Occupational Fatigue Index (SOFI) questionnaire. This study included 70 workers. The result of this study indicated that the representation of fatigue in workers with category lack of energy was 54,3% for high fatigue levels, while in physical exertion category was 45,7% for low fatigue levels, physical discomfort category was 42,9% for moderate fatigue, while in lack of motivation dimension was 65,7% for low of high fatigue, and sleepness category was 40% for moderate fatigue. The conclusion of this study is recommending workers to asses their energy needs by implementing a healthy lifestyle, enhance motivation, have a proper rest to reduce fatigue and improve productivity.
